Need info - Maj Gerhard Weyert
 

Hi all,

Can anyone help me with info on a Maj Gerhard Weyert?
All I know is that he won the DKiG in Jan 1945, and apparently served with II./ZG2, II./ZG1 and SG4. I'm looking for his service appointments, dates with each of these units and wartime fate.

Hi,

this is what I could find on him:

WEYERT Gerhard, Major. Born on 04.06 (June).1913. Stk. of 11./LG 1 in 8/40. In 41 at the SKG 210 later ZG 1. In 42, at the I./NJG 5. Kdr of II./ZG 1 in 42.

Maybe this adds something to the puzzle.

04.43 Hptm., acting Kdr. III./ZG 1.
c. 08.06.43 Hptm., appt Kdr. I./Schl.G. 1? (to 18.10.43?).
01.10.43 promo to Maj.
10.01.44 appt Kdr. III./SG 4 (to 27.01.45).
c. 01.45 Maj., appt Kdr. II./SG 4 (to 27.01.45).
01.01.45 Maj., awarded DKG, SG 4.

On 27.1.1945 Maj. Gerhard Weyert was Gr.Kdr. III./SG 4. He was shot down and wounded on that day in Fw 190F-8, WNr. 586449, after Flaktreffer. Bruchlandung (90%) near Geppersdorf (71419). As said he died in 1983. No further information. Had contact with his widow back in 1997 but all his personnal records were lost during bomb raid on Berlin.
