The one below is a "late" G-14/AS (W.Nr.785039)

Sorry, you're right and I wrong... never post early in the morning... :)
I don't have a close-up of starboard rear-fuselage of a G-14/AS at hand, will post if I find it. At any rate, the hatch you are referring to, IIRC was only for compressed air if a Mk108 was fitted, and those Gustavs didn't have that weapon as standard, AFAIK. A lot of technical drawings are still incorrectly reporting the hatch on almost all G-versions and I remember also John Beaman admitting that his drawings too were wrong in this respect saying that (I quote) "...The circular hatch on the rear fuselage is an access point for the cocking mechanism for the Mk 108 in aircraft so equipped." Re: compressed air filler on late Regensburger G-14AS
There were not G-14/AS with MK 108.
Gustavs equipped with MK 108 were manufactured by WNF exclusively, G-6/U4, G-14/U4 and G-10/U4. The MK 108 "pressluft" filling point was located low in fifth fuselage section. There were two "Zylinderflaschen" 6dm3 each in the fuselage. The instalation was preety similar to that known from MG-17 equipped aircraft F and early G. When Mtt.Regensburg started K-4 production, they moved the compressed air bottles to the right wing. Instead of two 6dm3 bottles they used one set of three "Kugelflashen". Regards Kuba |
