Loss of He 115 WNr 2771
I have two dates of loss for this aircraft:
1) 29 August 1940: 80% damage with 3./KüGr 506 at landing on seaplane base Sola, Noway. 1 dead (name unknown) and 2 wounded Source: http://www.rafandluftwaffe.info/luftwaffe1.html 2) 5 May 1944: crashed and burned (100% loss ?) near Copenhagen, Denmark. 1 dead (Pilot Unteroffizier Hans Bussewitz) and 3 survivors (one wounded). One is probably wrong. 80% damage is too high IMOO for the aircraft to be repaired. Can anybody help ? Thanks in advance |
Re: Loss of He 115 WNr 2771
Hi, Laurent
This aircraft was salvaged and repaired after the landing accident in 1940. Was reported on strength with Fl.Erg.Gr.(See) several times after this, and before the final accident in 1944. So no big mystery, just one of the many wrecks that were rebuilt. http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=118031 http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=136528 Regards, Andreas B |
Re: Loss of He 115 WNr 2771
Thanks Andreas,
I had so far see aircraft with up to 70% damage repaired, but as I said before not so high. So my first idea was that there was a type somewhere. Another case cleared, thanks a lot |
