3.(F)/123 Ju 88 lost on 29 July 1943
Hello,
On 29 July 1943, Ju 88 D-1 WNr 430589 4U+EL went missing, probably over the Bay of Biscay, with its crew of four: Lt. Gerhard Möbius (F), Lt. Eberhard Sommer (B), Fw. Wilhelm Steffens (Bf), Uffz. Karl Dewald (Bs). I would like to know what happened to them. Best regards, Jérémie Tarpon |

Just out of interest the book 'The Easter Bunnies' shows that on 11-4-43 Ltn Sommer and Fw Steffens were rescued when their Ju88 430359 crashed in the Bay of Biscay. Ff Hpt. Schukel and Bs Ogef Rossel were reported missing, the two rescued men were taken to Brest Naval Hospital

Probably a victim of 248 Sqn just after midday

Re: 3.(F)/123 Ju 88 lost on 29 July 1943
Thank you Chris,
I have read about a Fw 200 shot down by 248 Sqdn just after mid-day. Do you mean that this Beaufighter sqdn claimed another enemy aircraft at the same time? Best regards, Jérémie |
