Bf.109 wreck found in the Tyrrhenian sea
A group of italian divers has found the wreck of a Bf.109G-6.
They think it could be Bf.109G-6 wr. nr. 162739 of the 3./JG 77 lost on may 15, 1944 in a Luftkampf, pilot Gefr. Hans Joachim Kautz missing. I've read in the JG 77 history written by Dr. Prien that the pilot was posted missing in the Acquapendente/Montalto area. Does anyone may give any additional detail about that combat, the place where the aircraft went down and the story of the aircraft itself? Thank you Gianandrea |

So far, I've got only the joined pictures of one of the machine guns.
I think that an article about this aircraft will appear in "Ali Antiche", the magazine of the Gruppo Amici Velivoli Storici (www.gavs.it). Gianandrea |
