British DFC - American Recipients in WWII
I'm searching for a list of Americans who were awarded the British Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) during WWII. Any thoughts out there? Thanks.

Hello Tripp Alyn,
Do not know if this is what you are looking for, but there are a few of them on the two sites below: http://www.cieldegloire.com/sq_raf_071.php http://www.cieldegloire.com/sq_raf_121.php Sometimes we do found one or two who fought on BOMBER COMMAND or Coastal Command, but a LIST of all of them I never saw! Hope to have helped in some aspects...Good luck! Yours Adriano Baumgartner |
Re: British DFC - American Recipients in WWII
Thanks, Adriano. I appreciate the info. To be specific, what I'm actually seeking is the list of any members of the 354FG who received the British DFC. Maybe someone has this info?
Thanks, all. Tripp |

Re: British DFC - American Recipients in WWII
It's in his 201 file. Someone out there with a DFC award book could look up the actual citation.

Re: British DFC - American Recipients in WWII
The book The Distinguished Flying Cross and How it was Won 1918-1995 by Nick and Carol Carter (Savannah Press, 1998) has a list of American recipients during WW2 on pages 1934-1961. A quick review shows only Beerbower and Jack Bradley.
