Re: P-38 loadout

I have the Flight Manual which covers the models RP-38D, RP-38E, P-38F, P-38G, F-4 & F-5
In the armanent section they list Torpedo = none. The only bomb weight given is the 1100 pounder. The switch for dropping the bombs is the same one used for jettisoning drop tanks
so either bombs or tanks could be carried, not both at the same time.

Following web-site photo shows F-model (?) P-38, carrying two dummy 21-inch torpedoes for demonstration purposes.

I don’t know if weight carrying trials were ever conducted with real torpedo loads.
