what is the color used on the Dutch Buffalo and CW-21? Sample image of preserved plane:

I believe they were called "youngleaf" and "oldleaf", and were close to the US colours Olive Drab and Medium Green, but possibly not in that order.

This has been discussed on the modelling forum Hyperscale, so if you try their search routine you may be able to come up with something more precise.

I have Dutch friend who give me their names and i also find some US planes painted in the similar colors.

Upper surface Jong blad en Oud Blad, underside natural metal.

Some claim that Buffalos were delivered in resp. Medium Green and Dark Olive Drab instead.

I doubt natural metal, and I would rather expect silver or at least clear lacquer.

Huuuuh.... I always think that the bottom is light grey, almost like pre war navy US pale grey.

Ok.

Checked both Camouflage en Kentekens and Dutch Profile No. 8: Brewster B-339C/D/-23.

The Brewster (as were most KNIL aircraft) was painted in the following scheme:

Upper: oudblad / jongblad
Lower: aluminum laquer

Oudblad and Jongblad almost certainly correspond with respectively Dark Olive Drab No. 41 and Medium Green No 42 (or Dark Olive Drab No.31 and Dark Green No. 30, but that's a discussion about US colors).

The aluminum laquer appears to be pretty darkish compared to a true natural metal finish.

However the Curtiss Hawk H75A did have a true natural metal (aluminum) under surface.

The question also is who, where and by what paints painted out then huge white US civil registrations on upper surface of right wing and smaller ones on rudder?

When it comes to bottom -- in 1941 the Curtiss-Wright Corp., Propeller Division, had its ad campaign in the US press dedicated to aviation. One of those ads included high-quality color photograph of the Brewster Model 339D "B-3119" in the Dutch painting scheme. The bottom surfaces look like matt light grey but... who knows, maybe the other forumers are right.
