USAF airplane crashed in 1952 at Salerno?
 

Someone have informations about a airplane of USAF crashed in Salerno area (Cava dei Tirreni) in 1952 (november?). The airplane is surely crashed but I not find any informations in air crash database. Hope someone can help me. Thanks.

You've read part of the anwser on armyairforces.com that the crashed aircraft was a B-26.

This would have been a Douglas B-26 Invader. It's not clear from the newspaper article if the a/c was operated by the US Navy or USAF.
In former case then it probably was a JD-1 of some VU (utility squadron), and if USAF a B-26C, most likely of the 126th BW at Laon-Couvron AB, France.

Another operator of B-26 in the area was CIA, though I doubt if this was their aircraft. Nonetheless they have reputedly lost a C-47 crashed at Brindisi in October 1952.

I did some further googling with 126th Bomb Wing and found the following on the website of the Illinois Air National Guard:

From November 1 to 13, the 168th Bomb Squadron was ordered to Naples, Italy to participate in Operation LONG STEP. There were two accidents during this exercise; one caused aircraft damage and the other resulted in fatalities. Captain Thomas W. Davis’ nose gear collapsed on landing at Naples. He was unhurt but three other aircraft had to divert to Rome because of the blocked runway. Two of the B-26s made it to Rome, but the third crashed in the bad weather and low ceiling. Major Jack Telford, the squadron commander and Captain Richard J. Gilbert, squadron navigator, were killed when their plane crashed into a mountain near Salerno, Italy. These two deaths were the last fatalities suffered by the wing before it rotated home.

Many thanks for all your precious informations. There is a MACR about this crash? I live near the mountain where B-26 crashed and I'm planning to visit crash site to find some proof of accident.

it being a post war accident there will not likely be an MACR.

Stars and Stripes Newspaper dated Thursday, 13th November 1952 carried this story:

Major, Capt Identified as Italy Crash Victims
Weisbaden, Nov. 12 (Special)
Two Air Force Officers killed last Friday when their B26 crashed into a mountainside near Naples have been identified as Maj Jack Telford, pilot, whose address was listed only as St. Quentin, France, and Capt Richard Gilbert, a navigator, of Chicago.

That might make the crash date November 7th 1952.
