Ivan Ivanovich Uljanov-"Rata" pilot
 

On January 23, 1942 German airfield Mariupol (Ukraine) was attacked by formation of four Polikarpov I-16 "Rata's". Leader Ivan Ivanovich Uljanov was shot down and killed in proces by German flak. There are some reports that two more Rata's from this formations were shot down too. Can anyone confirme this report? What was Uljanov's unit? What was subtype of his Rata?
