Khorat -
Glad to help.
I looked at the MACR DataBase on www.ArmyAirForces.com
There is no MACR for 79th FG P-40 July , 43.
If Pilot Rescued - NO MACR

Just FYI: this P-40 was subject of a thread last December as well: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=15303

A conclusion here says that P-40 was flown by Fred Borsodi and made c/l on 22.4.43.

Re: P-40 downed Sicilian coast (?)

think the pic was taken at the beach of Santa Agata, northeast of Messina/Sicily, will spent some time to check the MACR - maybe find the right one, because some german soldiers around the wreckage, so think the pilot maybe taken POW.
