Re: Photos 5-10
What is with this cross? Looks like a decal applied after the camouflage

Modeldad
Unusual for the time period - end 44? Hakenkreuz is sometime seen on a number of aircraft in 1945. Basically the white and black has been reversed. The factory guy has painted the main cross white and the outline in black - should be the other way around - looks weird but have seen it before. Swastika is a late war outline only. regards Mark PS Looking on the web it has it as a FW190F8-White-48-WNr587108-Lippstadt-Germany-1945 |
Re: Photos 5-10

Re: Photos 5-10
I am no expert on the D-9, but from what I understand from Deboeck et al.'s Vol. 2 on the Fw 190D markings and camouflage published by JAPO, this photo:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=180355825639 actually confirms that "<1-+-" was indeed W.Nr. 600150, as they speculate in said book, but were unable to confirm 100 % (see pages 302-306). Must be good to get that confirmation! Hopefully they will already have seen this interesting photo. If not, someone should notify them. Kjetil |
Re: Photos 5-10
That "<1-+-" was W.Nr. 600150 was confirmed with very nice photographs in volume 1 of Jerry Crandalls Fw 190D book.
