Bf 109 F-4 WNr 7638
 

Hello all,

On 13 May 1942 Uffz Johannes Schubert of 7./JG 54 damaged at 65% his Bf 109 F-4 WNr 7368 in a take-off accident from Siwerskaja airfield.

65% usually means damaged beyond repair, but in Gunther Rosipal JG 54 loss list, this loss as a comment as if it was only damaged.

On the other hand, III./JG 54 reported this day two aircraft missing (Oblt von Bülow and his wingman lost near Olomno) and one destroyed without enemy action in an operational flight. The third should be Wnr 7368.

So I am wondering if any of you having a database of Luftwaffe losses will found the WNr 7368 after this date.

Hi Laurent

I have this plane with WNr. 7638 from another loss-list.
Maybe a twisting of digits.

WNr. 7368 belonged to JG 53 and flown in March and July in Sicily and North Africa.

I can only confirm what JoMe said. It looks like Schubert damaged WNr.7638 on the 13.05.42.

WNr.7368 flew with JG53 for a good period of time

27.03.42 10.(Jabo)/JG53 N.N., Spritmangel - Bauchlandung, Agrigento - 25%
22.07.42 10.(Jabo)/JG53 N.N., Motorschaden - Bauchlandung, Quasaba - 50%
