Me 262 Pilot Claims

Just wondering what was the highest number of claims made by a single Me262 pilot in one sortie? As well as the highest number in one day?

Hi Jim,

during the night, the highest number of claims in a single sortie, supported by documentation (that I know of) would be:

2-3 March 1945 - 2 certain & 1 probable. Pilot unknown but probably Welter. Actual RAF attrition was 1 Mosquito damaged.

There were a couple of instances of two claims:

21-22 February 1945 - 2 certain by Welter (followed by another certain claim during another sortie on the same night). RAF attrition was nil.

23-24 March 1945 - 2 certain by Becker. RAF attrition was 1 Mosquito destroyed, another damaged, and another that crashed in Holland due to an unknown cause.

Cheers

Rod

Oblt. Walter Schuck, 3./JG 7 downed four B-17 in one mission on the 10th of April 1945, region Oranienburg (near Berlin).

On November 8,1944 Oblt. Schall destroyed two P-47Ds of the 356th FG in one sortie. He had already claimed another victory in a previous sortie.
