Hi,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6540523276 Middle of top six photos, Is that a spitrfire V , possibly Vc, seems a strange a/c to be sat in the middle of a load of wrecked/captured german planes. Might be an ex captured luftwaffe spit ? Cheers Jerry |

Re: Photos + 6-17-05
The middle 109 photo shows the tail of the 109F-4 of Herbert Ihlefled on or shortly after 22-Apr-42 just prior to his leaving I./JG 77 for JG 52. There is a film sequence of this machine taxiing in after a successful sortie in one of the segments of the old 'Hunters in the Sky' series - the machine wore only an SKZ for a code at this time. I believe this machine became Baer's after he assumed command of I./JG 77 and is the same one from photos that is usually identified as belonging to IV./JG 51.
