Post WW2 I know but ...
Hello,
Post WW2 I know but Avro Lancastrians. Three a/c I am interested in. C.MkIII - 1294 - G-AHBZ - "Sky Ambassador" became AP-ACQ (Pakistan). C.MkIV - VL979 - G-AKFI - "Sky Consort" then G-AJPP and became AP-ACN (Pakistan). C.MkIV - TX290 - G-AKJO - "Sky Envoy" became AP-ACO (Pakistan). Did they actually receive Pakistan Air Force Markings or remain in Civil markings ? Also what became of them , were they returned to the UK after service or broken up in Pakistan ? Many thanks Alex |

Alex
All three were sold to civilan operator Onzeair in mid 1948. All three were very quickly cancelled from the register later that same year, and it is of course debatable if they ever carried any AP-xxx registration at all. All three are reported as sold to the Pakistan Government. However there stops all trace of them since none of the Pakistan Air Force history books contains any reference to any Avro Lancastrians.
