You might want to look at After The Battle's BLitz Over Britain. It has daily summaries of action from 1939-1945.

The prime source of information for locating just about everything on your list would be a copy of Kelly's Directory for Aberdeen from the late '30s or early war years. Besides an index of services/companies, with their addresses, it will have street by street indexes and even the names of residents. If you can find both a prewar edition and an immediate postwar edition, it is often possible to trace war damage and see what buildings were beyond repair and which could be saved. Often a local authority will have saved one of each year of publication and hold them somewhere in the library system. Start with the largest of the city's local libraries, who should be able to redirect you if they don't physically stock them.

Hope this helps,

Bruce

Re: Aberdeen scotland - Bombing WW2

Thanks bruce

I got a reply from the MOD about WW2 bombing in Aberdeen, but it basically said along the lines of public order, safety etc etc they can't release the info. Basically by plotting bomb patterns, it could expose the location of UXBs that are still there and for reasons such as access, low risk, safer to leave etc. Zetica have a map, but that only shows bomb concentrations of ww2 and summerises 1 in 10 bombs were UXBs.

There is a list of UXBs in one London suberb, and when published created a bit of a panic, so i suppose they learned their lesson!

I'll have a trawl in the main library at the weekend, see what else i can dig up

alanatabz,
I don't see Hinton Terrace mentioned in your list. A bomb destroyed a house on Hinton Terrace. My grandmother's 2 sisters lived across the road from the destroyed house and their house suffered minor blast damage.
