No.402 Spitfire MK.XIVE

Hello

Does anybody know the complete squadron code for this particular Supermarine Spitfire MK.XIVe RM-651 (AE-?) that was involved in shooting down a FW-190 on 20 April 1945 in the Hagenow A/D Germany area.? Aircraft assigned to No.402 (f) Squadron RCAF.

Hi Santiago,
RM651 was coded AE*Y the entire time it was on 402 Sqn RCAF (Aug 1944 until May 1945). F/O T.B. Lee claimed a Fw190 flying this a/c on 20 Apr 1945.
By Apr '45 the Sky band would have been most likely painted out and the spinner painted Black.
