Eric Carter only surviving member of No.81 Squadron, story here.

I met Eric at his home, he lives about 1-mile from me and he is a great story-teller. The picture in this article is one I took. I'm considering popping round with my video camera and doing an interview, would there be any interest in it though?

Let me know, cheers, MP.

MP

Give Eric my regards. I am not sure of there is any other 81 Sqn guys left - 'Bas' Bush, 'Avro' Anson, Crewe or Rigby but I know there are a few from the other squadron - 134 - especially Tim Elkington in the Cotsowlds.

Here is the full article I wrote (still a book project) having located nearly all of the pilots and families.

and one of the Hurricanes from that unit.

Hi MP

It's imperative that you interview Eric for the sake of history, IMHO

Cheers
Brian

Hello Brian, thanks for the reply.

I have arranged to go round with my camera on Sunday morning. Will try to cover as much of his WW2 experiences as time allows. Will post video some time next week, cheers, MP.

Give him my best regards?? And, knowing Eric, allow 2 hours!!
And why is he not featured in The Faithful Few by Andrew Long??
And have you viewed Eric in the RAF in Russia Video??
