Re: About 253 Sqn.
Hi Many
I intend to visit the NA next week and will have a look at 253 Squadron ORB for you. What is it you actually require? Cheers Brian |
Re: Sgt Bann and 253 Squadron
Hi Brian,
Can you also have a good dig about and see if you can find Sgt Eric Bann mentioned in any literature for France 1940. He mentions in his letters home that after training he was posted to France and I have concluded he looks to have served very briefly with 253 Squadron, however NO RECORDS exist saying he did...other than his own letters home. I think he may have only served a few weeks with them before forming 238 Squadron, where he was killed on the 28th September. His letters state that over France he was in the thick of it...? I have his records from the RAF and it does not mention 253 Sq at all...so I am at a loss Thanks Tapper |
Re: About 253 Sqn.
Bonjour Brian.
Thank you again for your help, it is always my researchs about the victories of the Free French pilots And if it not too much for You another Free French in 253 Sqn. Claimed a shared victory on the 29/30 July 42 with a crew of 1459 Flight, and I would like to know if it is possible to find the serial of the Havoc and the names of the crew. Ps: The DO 217 which claimed was damaged was upgraded as probable on the... 25 June 1944. Thank you again Brian. |
