Re: 507th Fighter Group
An answer may be at the end this story: http://www.neta.com/~1stbooks/oscarp.htm
It is written here that the Oscars were in fact Ki-84 Hayate fighters of 22nd and/or 85th Sentai at Kimpo/Seoul. Regards, Leendert |
Re: 507th Fighter Group

Re: 507th Fighter Group
I believe the 5th kill was a Willow.
Perdomo's son Kris was a Huey crew chief in VN and was sadly KIA. He committed suicide over this about a year afterwards. |
Re: 507th Fighter Group
you mean Perdomo himself ?
a sad story if that was the case... |
Re: 507th Fighter Group
Hata & Izawa give slightly different figures than above mentioned article with Japanese casualties being:
Maj Tomio Nakamura Sgt Kaname Hagiyama Sgt Kioyaki Tachiwa Sgt Maj Heihachiro Nishino from 85th Sentai and 1/Lt Takemasa Katsuta Sgt Masayasu Ohkami Sgt Fukashi Morozumi Sgt Maj Yotaro Sato from 22nd Sentai. Also they give as the day of the loss of the above listed as 11/08/45 but undoubtedly they have died in the engagement in question. Jan |
Re: 507th Fighter Group
