Victory claims for jg 53 in 14 may 40 ''day of the fighters''
 

Total number of kills by unit this day i think its 30 with gruppe i accounting for the lion's share (15) but am not %100 sure also losses for this day? Many help much appreciated best regards

Stab I./JG53 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3. Shot down in combat with No. 1 Squadron Hurricanes near Sedan 3.45 p.m. FF Oberlt Wilfried Balfanz wounded. Aircraft 100% write-off.

I./JG53 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3. Wrecked in crash-landing at Esch, cause not stated. Pilot unhurt. Aircraft 100% write-off.

1./JG53 Messerschmitt Bf109E-1. Shot down in combat with No. 1 Squadron Hurricanes and crashed at ‘Fond de Givonne’, between Sedan and Bouillon, 3.45 p.m. FF Oberfw Walter Grimmling killed. Aircraft 100% write-off.


1./JG53 Messerschmitt Bf109E-4. Collided with No.139 Squadron Blenheim destroyed in combat over Remilly-Aillicourt, south-east of Sedan, and crashed at ‘La Gravière’, near Doux, 3.40 p.m. FF Fw Alfred Stark killed. Aircraft White 3 + 100% write-off.

8./JG53 Messerschmitt Bf109E-1. Shot down in combat with No. 1 Squadron Hurricanes west of Buzancy and believed crashed at Chagny 3.35 p.m. FF Fw Josef Kröschel captured unhurt – later released. Aircraft 100% write-off.
