JG 54 on 13 July 1942
Hello,
The JG 54 loss list of Günther Rosipal had two entries on 13 July 1942, both for 8./JG 54. 1) Uffz Hans Wulfers wounded and his Bf 109 F-4 WNr unknown destroyed at 100% in an unknown incident in Pl.Qu 2981 (completed with 35 Ost, JG 54 operation area, this location is the area of Krestcy (also written Kresstsy on Google Map), east of Lake Ilmen.) 2) Bf 109 F-4/R1 WNr 13140 destroyed at 80% in a crash-landing near Gorka due to lack of gas. Pilot unknown. There is a place called Gorka about 20 km east of Krestcy. The Lufwaffe summary losses for 13 July 1942 show only one loss, an aircraft destroyed without action during an operational flight. My guess would be that Uffz Hans Wulfers was flying the WNr 13140 and Rosipal used two sources, the official one not saying Wulfers was wounded, and a diary stating he was wounded and his aircraft lost. If anybody can confirm or infirm this supposition, I will be happy to have any info on this case. Thanks in advance Laurent |

Looks like you are correct. Here's what the QM list says:
Bf 109F-4, 13140, Wulfers, Uffz. Hans, 8./JG 54, SK+MN, 13-Jul-42, Bruchlandung due to fuel shortage., Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #6)-Vol.10;, Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, IX.3, p.232;, Rosipal JG 54 loss list, bei Gorka (PlQu.29 81) 80%F |

Thanks John, exactly what I was searching.
One more dubious loss eliminated from my base. Best regards Laurent |
