Seeking details on Werner Schroer's 7 June 1943 mission

Hi,

I'm seeking some details about Werner Schroer's successful mission on the morning of 7 June 1943. If anyone has access to a copy of his logbook, I'd be very interested to know what type of mission he was flying, and the take-off and landing times. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Andrew A.

Hello Andrew,

On June 7, 1943 Werner Schroer took off from Trapani @ 0510 on a "Jabobegleitschutz" mission, and returned to the same airfield @ 0715. He claimed "1 Curtiss P40" as his 77th victory. He was flying "Bf 109G <<+-", (probably 109 G6). Schroer was the Gruppenkommandeur of II/JG 27 at this time.

I hope this helps!

Hello Russ,

Many thanks, that does help. I'd guessed that he was escorting the 190s to Cap Bon, but needed the confirmation.

Cheers,
Andrew A.
