WW2 veteran passes
George Keefer Noland of Mobile, Alabama (born Shelby, Ohio Sept. 11, 1918)
died July 18, 2009. He was 90 years old and had been ill for a long time. Family members noted that as a P-51 Mustang pilot Mr. Noland shot down three Japanese aircraft and received the D.F.C. and Air Medal. reference: Press Register Mobile, Ala. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Victory List No.3 USAAF (Pacific Theater) Credits for the Destruction of Enemy Aircraft in Air-to-Air Combat World War 2 by Dr. Frank J. Olynyk notes: Maj. George K. It was really hard time for his family and difficult to deal with this grief. His family needs support and strength. I pray to God for his family and may he rest in peace. His family always in my thoughts and prayers.
