Hi Fredo,

Reference

Afirm, it's a map refeence :

complete on is : 14OstN BE3, see here : http://www.lesbutler.ip3.co.uk/jg26/gradnetz6.gif

Square is BE, 3 represente third sub divison of BE square, left up corner.
In fact BE square is divided in 9 sub divissions :
123
456
789

So BE 3 represente a south of Paris position.

and here, a map of Arpajon:
http://www6.mappy.com/sidaWnpX2+PLJn...m1=250&x=0&y=0

Hope it's help.

Thaks again for the very good explication.
I am very surprise of this crash aera.
If i take the excellent book of JB Frappé "La Luftwaffe face au débarquement allié", it said that Horst Forbig crashed in CAEN aera.
So, if it's possible to know your sources, it could help me.
In fact, a friend of me have find a FW 190 near Lisieux, and unfortunately, the pilot was still again in the plane. Horst Forbig could be this pilot with the few things we have find in this plane.

Ok, I'm very sorry, I've made a mistake.
BE3 is a P-47 downed by Forbig the day of his fall.

Forbig falled in Caen area as said in Frappé book.

Do you have any element of identification of the aircraft ?

Fredo Hara 9th January 2005 16:49

ouf! it's ok.
The few element we have is:
It's a Fw 190 A8, the number of the plane could be a 0,2,3,6,8 or 9 but it's a red number like the 2./JG54.
We know that it's an officer because we have find an officier belt, and the pilot have the EK 1. We know again he crashed after a fighting because we have find US bullets in the fuselage.

According to Rosipal's JG 54 loss list, which can be found at www.jg54greenhearts.com, Forbig was lost flying the following:
