Blenheim IV movement
Hello
Does anyone have knowledge of the last Sqdn. to which Blenheim IV L9246 was allocated in France 1940? Thanks in advance for any gen. Graham W. |
Re: Blenheim IV movement
In 'Blenheim Strike' by Theo Boiten it's listed as belonging to 57 Squadron. On 10.5.40 it took off at 15.30hrs from Rosieres-en-Santerre for a Recce south of Hertogenbosch.
It was damaged by ground fire, the pilot and WOp/AG both wounded. It returned to base but was abandoned there when the Sqn withdrew to Poix on 17 May. |
Re: Blenheim IV movement
Thank you Jim. I have a photo of this kite - lacking any squadron codes with an BF109 in the adjacent dispersal.
Clearly a case of a book to few ! ;+( Graham |
