El Firdan (LG116) raid on 25.6.1942
 

Hi all,

according to the RAF ORB the airfield was attacked by German nigh fighter/bomber at 00.10, attacked by bombs, than several strikes and finally was shot down by RAF nigh fighter.

As I am not so familiar with the North Africa area could anybody help me with:

1) Luftwaffe plane + crew attacking the airfield
2) RAF plane + crew who shot down the previous one?

Any ideas much appreciated.

Hi,
From "Fighters Over The Desert" Chris Shores & Co & "73 Squadron - vol 2" by Don Minterne

Sgt Hill of 73 Sq shot down a Ju.88 near Mersa Matruh and P/O Henry of 73 Sq claimed a probable during this night.
Ju.88 of I/KLG.1 lost over Mersa Matruh
