Hptm Franz Wienhusen on 20 July 1943

Hello,

Hptm Franz Wienhusen, the Staka of 5./JG 5, was wounded by Soviet aircraft SE of Vardo on 20 July 1943. Several sources agree on that, but I have not found any details of the aircraft he flew and what happened to it. I would be interested by the serial and fate of his fighter, if he was hit in an air battle...

Thanks in advance

Laurent

Three sources (a book and two websites) indicate that Hptm Franz Wienhusen of 5./JG 5 was wounded and not killed on 20 July 1943.

It is very very probably the same man... with the short and long version of his name.

Hi.

The same man. Aircraft damaged below 10% and thus no details reported.

Thanks Andreas, that was what I was guessing.
