KGr 126/ I Gruppe/KG 28
 

Can anyone confirm something for me? KGr 126 was subordinate to 9 Flg Div (later IX Fliegerkorps) which was part of Luftflotte 2. Trouble is KGr 126 which became I/KG 28 in Dec 40 was based in Nantes which was very much Luftflotte 3's territory and I/KG 28 only starts getting mentioned in Luftflotte 3's reports at the end of May 41 by which time Luftflotte 2 had moved east and IX Fliegerkorps had moved to Luftflotte 3. Is my reasoning correct?

Digging a bit deeper, KGr 126 does get mentioned as being part of IV Fliegerkorps, Luftflotte 3 from mid-Dec 40 but not in Jan 41 (by which time it had been renamed I/KG 28)
