B-29 shot down 29/8/45

Hi guys

Perhaps well known, but not by me.

B-29 shot down by Soviets on 29 August 1945 while dropping supplies to POWs in Korea.

Any details, please?

Hello Brian,

Russian pilot reported to have been named Zizevskii flying a Yak 9 of 14 IAP damaged and forced the B29 to land.

"Hog Wild" B29-15-BA serial number 42-63436 882nd BS, 500th BG 73rd BW.
Crew were later returned, aircraft was not.
A second B29 also was forced down this date.
"Buckin' Bronc" B29-80-BW serial number 44-70136 same Squadron as above a/c.
