I./KSG 2 (to 04.07.42). 07.42 Maj., appt Kdr. I./KG 26 (to 31.01.43). 20.10.42 Maj., awarded DKG, I./KG 26. 01.03.43 (01.02.43?) appt Kommodore KG 26 (to 11.44). 29.08.43 Maj., awarded the Ritterkreuz, Kommodore KG 26. 01.10.43 promo to Obstlt. Served in naval aviation in the postwar Bundeswehr, retiring in 1969 in the rank of Kapitän zur See. †.30.09.69 (or 21.10.89?) in Lübeck-Travemünde.

Clarification needed regarding his date of death.

After de war Werner KLümper was CO of 1 Marinefliegergeschwader in 1959.

Date of death: 21.10.89 is correct.
