Have you tested British pilot Douglas Bader.....~I believe they come no bader!
How about Walter Schuck(not sure about) Heinrich Ehrler, Heinrich Bartels, Hans Dobrich I am sure were all on the fiddle like almost all of JG5 especially 6th Staffel, Weissenberger seems a lot more honest. Egon Mayer had a big problem with Josef Wurmheller, I think the problem was he knew he was a fraud....like most JG2 pilots Buhligen included, but I think Erich Leie and Egon Mayer himself were more honest. JG26's seem the most reliable of all. Werner Schroer was honest and also anton Hackl I think!

While looking over Kurt Buhlingen's record, I find his scoring to be average,that is, some exageration/overclaiming but mostly honest.
Other ex JG-2 members such as Gunther Seeger and Julius Meimberg were accurate in their claims.

I find that Heinz Bar tended to overclaim, but what a great flier!

About Weissenberger, I think sometimes his claims against VVS was not so reliable. For example:

4.7.1943: 3 DB-3f, 2 Hampdens (9 BAP) and 2 Il-2 (46 ShAP VVS SF) attacked a German convoy near Kirkenes. In following air combat with 7. and 8./JG5 the group was almost totally eliminated - 5 aircrafts were shot down (1 DB-3, 2 Hampdens, 2 Il-2). But the pilots of JG5 claimed 19 (!) Soviet aircrafts had been destroyed (21:53-22:12), including 5 Il-2, 7 Hampdens and 5 Pe-2. Weissenberger alone claimed six (3 Il-2 and 3 Hampdens) but don't forget about Jacob Norz, Franz Doerr, Arthur Beth and many others...

The claim made by Weissenberger at 21:07 (Pe-2, 37 Ost/2177) is reliable though - he shot down Pe-3 from 118 RAP VVS SF.

An opportunistic overclaimer then! You say Oesau was overclaiming, but where everwhere or just with JG2?
