73 Sqn 05.06.40
Hi,
perhaps somebody could check if 73 Sqn did claim a Do 17 over France on 05.06.40? TIA Regards Robert |
Re: 73 Sqn 05.06.40
Hello Robert,
Yes, indeed they did, but the name of the successful pilot, time and location are unfortunately unknown. 73 Squadron was the only RAF unit to make a claim against Do 17 on this date. Source: John Foreman, RAF Fighter Command Victory Claims of World War Two, Part I. Hope this helps, Ota |

Re: 73 Sqn 05.06.40
Robert,
'B' Flight of No.73 Squadron (S/L More, F/O Kain, P/O McGaw, Sgt Friend, P/O Smith) were involved during a patrol 06.20 - 07.40 hours when Blue Section attacked a Do17 over Reims which was last seen gliding down with both engines stopped . Bf109s of 7./JG53 intervened and More & Kain both returned to Echemines with damage to their aircraft. |
