P-36 Hawk Aces of World War 2

Hi,

Is the use of this aircraft by Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force well covered in the book P-36 Hawk Aces of World War 2 by Kari Stenman, Andrew Thomas and Lionel Persyn (Osprey Publishing)?

Peter

Hej Peter,

There is nothing about the use of the P-36 in the Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force in the book.

Best wishes/Håkan

Hej Håkan,
Thanks for the help. As far as I know the Dutch didn´t make many claims with the Hawk but I had some hope to find information about the use of Hawk by this forgotten air force.

Regards
Peter

Hej igen,

I guess that you have "Bloody Shambles" Volume 1/2, which covers the operations of the Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force against the Japanese in 1941/42?

A very quick check gave claims with the Hawk by the 1-VIG-V on 23/1-42 (2 damaged Ki-21s) and on 3/2-42 (a probable G3M and A6M + some damaged bombers).

Best wishes/Håkan

Hej Håkan,
Yes, I have both these books. In general very good books but a little thin in details when it comes to the Dutch units.
Thanks for taking your time to help me.

Cheers/Peter
