I am sure I have a transcript, but probably only picking out specific details including aircraft/pilots who flew that day and any losses/claims.

Are you after something specific?

Hi Rob,

If you need combat reports there is a 400+ page file of these records for 54 Sqn RAF at the National Archives Australia website (including select months from 1940 & 1941). You might find some detail relating to 7th May 1941. Run a search using 54 Squadron in the keyword field and a file should be on the results list “54 Squadron - Combat Reports 12-31 August 1940, September 1941” (Series Number A11326, Barcode 322041).

Hello Andy and Drew,

Thanks for your replies.

@ Andy: I am after the details of this mission - one Spitfire was lost in combat with Me 109's over the Channel. Pilot MIA. Any details regarding this combat and pilots involved?

@ Drew: I have seen this file and went through all the 400 + pages - alas no details on 7 May 41... grgrgr

Best regards,
Rob

All I have is Sgt H K Hall lost in Spitfire P8178. Nothing else. Sadly, I noted detail for 54 Squadron events on 20 April...then nothing until 18 June. I will make a note to look further when I am next at Kew, but Norman Franks FCL book echoes the note I have about Hall.

Hi Rob,

"1941 - Part 2 - The Blitz To Non-Stop Offensive" by John Foreman has quite a bit of detail on this day's ops. He attributes Halls loss to either Hpt Gollob of II/JG3 or Fw.Helber of II/JG51 both who claimed Spitfires around this area and time

Cheers
