The Bombing Of Liverpool Docks 3 May 1941
Hello,
Could anyone kindly provide information on a particular raid which resulted in a huge explosion aboard the Brocklebank cargo vessel Malakand. She was berthed in No2 Branch Huskisson Dock in Liverpool when a partly deflated barrage balloon fell on to her deck starting a fire which would eventually cause the 1000 tons of high explosives on board to erupt! I am particularly interested in ascertaining the following information. 1) The Luftwaffe squadron (if that is the correct term)which carried out the raid. 2) The type of aircraft used 3) The originating airbase 4) The route flown to the target and the route flown home. Many thanks, roconnor |
