7 crashed Me-109 on 19th March 1944 near Esztergom

Dear Members!

I'am looking for seven crashed german aeroplanes. They crashed on 19. March 1944. near Esztergom (in Pilis mountain). Corps: III/JG 27, and IV/JG 27.

The seven pilots died. I know seven names, and two serial numbers.
III/JG 27: Scharf, August; Bindert, Erich; Pothmann, Heinrich.
IV/JG 27: Flor, Hans; Dittmann, Werner; Tschertner, Werner; and Brose, Wilhelm.

The serial numbers: 161 471 and 161 018.

I need some help about the pilots, and to pair the serial numbers with the names. And I need some help aboit the ensign of the aeroplanes.

Thank you!

Miklós Tamás student (Hungary, Esztergom)

Miklos, from Dr. Priens history of III and IV/JG27 - Oblt. Erich Bindert of StabIII/JG27 baled out lightly wounded, Uffz August Schaff and Uffz Heinrich Pothmann of 8/JG27 killed all south of Marburg. 10/JG27 lost Oblt Gunther Potrafke, Ltn Hans Flor, Uffz Werner Dittmann, Uffz Wilhelm Brose all killed in area of Budapest plus another aircraft lost with pilot safe. All aircraft were Bf109G6's no other aircraft details. The mission was to oppose a raid by 310 bombers of the USAAF 15th Air Force. The book also says the loss off Potrafka, Dittmann and Brose was ohne Feindeinwirkung which I believe means not due to enemy action,

Re: 7 crashed Me-109 on 19th March 1944 near Esztergom

I write a short résumé about my researches (sorry about my bad english)

On 7th May 2003 found we some wrecks near to Pilisszentlélek. (Between Esztergom and Budapest in Pilis-mountain). The inhabitants of the village said, that the german aeroplane had been crashed on 19th March 1944. (This is the day of the occupation Hungarys by the german troops.) From the wrecks know we, that is a Bf-109G. (mount "Fekete-hegy")

The hungarian royal gendarmerie wrote about two german one-man aeroplanes.

The priest of Pilisszentkereszt (near to Pilisszentlélek) wrote about 7 dead bodies.

On 7th February 2004. found we two another wrecks. Here found we the two serial numbers. (mount "Nagy-Szoplák")

On 24th April 2004. found we one more wreck. (At the crossing of Pilisszentkereszt-Esztergom-Dobogókő.)

And there is an other Bf-109 wreck in the region (mount "Pilisnyereg")

All of this planes are Bf-109 G. The inhabitants sad, that every aeroplane crashed on 19th March 1944. The dead bodies was taken to Pilisszentkereszt in the house of the deceased. Later the germans took them away.

We found 5 wrecks, but I think, that somewhere there are additionally two aeroplanes.

A hungarian researcher gave me three names (Tsetren, Bronze, Ditman), and he said that the element of the aeroplanes had benn JG27.

The list of the pilots I got from www.jg27.de in 2004. (Sharf, Bindert, Pothmann, Flor, Dittmann, Tschertner, Brose)

Thank you!
