Hello,
Squadron letters "8R" and aircraft in squadron letter "A+" would to me mean the 489th Bomber Group 846th Bomber Squadron.
From the "Heavy Bombers of the Mighty Eighth by Adams and Andrews I could find the following -
42-94817 FTR 1st Sept 44 Salvaged 14th November 44.
No MACR but would be an accident report I expect.
All the best
Alex

Good evening Franck & Alex !

The Mighty Eight Combat Chronology does also note a B-24 s/n 42-94817,
markings "+A" of 489th BG, 846th BS on this September 1st, 1944 as
FTR LOC (Failed to Return, loss occured behind "friendly lines").
It is also noticed, that this a/c was salvaged from November 14th, 1944 on.

By the way, on my believe, this a/c is the candidate.

All the best !

Franck !

Your a/c in question is painted in the green/gray camouflage scheme of the USAAF early years. B-24H-20-FO, s/n 42-94817 belongs to the last batch of Ford's Willow Run production badge, which produced B-24 in camouflage-outfit (s/n 42-94795 - 42-95022).

Batch B-24H-25-FO of Willow Run was delivered in NMF (s/n 42-95023 - 42-95288)

This means, that all guesses and evidences tracing to your a/c is 42-94817 and no one else.

Best wishes !
