Ju 188 or Ju 88G ?
 

On the morning of 26th November 1944, the RAF's 486 Squadron flying Hawker Tempests shot down two twin-engine Luftwaffe aircraft near Munster-Handorf airbase in Germany.
I have read two accounts of this incident one of which states that the victims were two Ju 188's and the other which identifies them as Ju 88 nightfighters.
As Ju 88G nightfighters had the same rear fuselage as the Ju 188 this is an understandable confusion, especially in the heat of battle.
I was hoping someone might have the information at hand to establish the actual identity of the Luftwaffe aircraft involved, please ?
