Bf 109 lying in a river (Luxembourg?)

1 Attachment(s)
Hello from Luxembourg,

I found back this picture from a Bf 109 in a small river. The person who gave it to me told me that it must be somewhere in Luxembourg during the campaign of 1940. I have no idea where it could be or who was the pilot. If anyone can help or has similar pictures of it, perhaps we could identify it.

hello,
i have heard that storry but it was located further than Arlon (belgium)
there still have to be parts but its impossible to get there due its natural protected area and you are forbitten to use any kind of diggers equipment.

The badge might be the one of JG 26 "Schlageter"

What badge? I see only a rear mirror on the canopy.

The emblem David, the emblem underwater: S for submarine!

The blow-up reveals my mistake - the german type "S" partially submerged turns out to be the tiny air intake and opening characteristic for the Bf109E. Sorry - I declare the speculation open again:o

Hehe, Franck. You see the airscoop and the hole for the engine start hand crank. :-)

Did I? I was starting thinking I's not able to see something anymore! Don't worry Roland I's just kidding, you show enough knowledge elsewhere...
Tschüss,
Franck.
