British aircraft histories
Is there a site to find the histories of certain Lancaster's such as for the Spitfires in Shacklady's book?

Re: British aircraft histories
Andy,
Try the Lost Bombers website http://www.lostbombers.co.uk/results...&submit=Search Also there are the Bomber Command Losses books by William Chorley and Air Britain books giving the fate of each aircraft by serial number. If you let us know what date the aircraft was lost or its serial then it will be easy to look up. |
Re: British aircraft histories
They weren't lost in his occupation of the cockpit, damaged yes. June to October 44 he flew, all 35 daylight missions. Im hoping the that JN-D was still HK601 in 75sqn service 1945. He flew these (hunting photo of any of them)
JN-W HK563 JN-K LM104 JN-Z ME752 JN-F HK554 JN-Y LM544 JN-V ND911 JH-P HK597 JN-X ND801 JN-Y NF981 JN-K NF980 JN-D HK601 Thanks Andy |
Re: British aircraft histories
Generally, when the same aircraft code letter is repeated, that's due to the previous aircraft with that letter being lost (or rarely, transferred to another Squadron). HK601 does not show up as a loss.
