Alain,

According to his enlistment record he joined the army on 13 Oct 1942 in Philadelphia, PA. He was born in 1917 and died in March 1974 (see Social Security Death Index).

I have found no details about 219 Qm Co in WW II (yet).

Groet,

Leendert

Quarter Master (Truck) Companies were in Air Depot Groups and Service Groups within Air Force Service Command

SG's were normally split in two as Service Teams 'A' and 'B' and allocated to support a USAAF Fighter or Bomber Group etc. So this suggests that Det 'A' 219 QM Co was attached to a USAAF flying unit.

A quick look through Ken Wakefield's book Operation Bolero suggests that QM Coy's had four numbers instead of three.

There was a 2197th QM Truck Co (Aviation) at Charmy Down in May 1944
