Looking for a Photo JG77/JG300 OFFICER
 
Hi,

Long shot but would anyone have a Photo of LT Otto Ertel,he served in JG77 in Norway and France and on the Staff of JG300.He had about 12 confirmed victories.

Ok,any info,i put what i know about him on the Kracker archive.I picked up his Ehrenpokal last year.

This is what I know.

On 12th April 1940 he force-lnded his Bf109 at Mandal, Norway and was captured, but released five days later. He was killed when he crashed a Fi156 at Funkerth on 26th November 1943 during a transit flight. Abschusse six-

12th Apr 1940 FW 6./JG 77 Hampden SW Kristiansand 1400hrs Nr 1
24th Jun 1940 Fw 6./JG 77 Blenheim W Stavanger 1400hrs Nr 2
27th Jun 1941 Ofw 6./JG 77 DB-3 1140hrs Nr 3
30th Jul 1943 Oblt II./Kdo.Herr Lancaster Hamburg 0055hrs 5000 metres o.z-a.s.m Nr 4
30th Jul 1943 Oblt II./Kdo.Herr Lancaster Hambyrg 0105hrs 4000 metres o.z-a.s.m Nr 5
28th Aug 1943 Oblt 5./JG 300 viermot Nuermberg 0215hrs 4800 metres a.s.m Nr 6

Possibly had some un-confirmed further claims in 1943, as you can see all his night kills were questionable before confirmation.....trouble being witnesses....as with all wildsau pilots!
