I talked to his brother Ernie a number of times in the 80s before he passed away. He actually went to Dresden to look around and ask questions. In asking people who lived near the crash sight he could find no one who would even admit to remembering any such incident. But, Ernie felt that they weren't being honest with him. I can imagine someone not wanting to say "Yes, I murdered your brother or participating in his killing". I douby we'll ever know the truth.

Hopefully somebody will tell some day...I know of a German woman who as a small kid witnessed the shooting and burial of an American bomber crewmember. Recently she finally couldn't bear it any longer and told the story....JPAC (Hawaii) is now looking into this !
