Canadians (POW's on march) killed by strafing by Mustang - friendly-fire in Normandy June 1944
I am hoping someone on the forum will have information with regard to Canadian POW's who were on a march and who were killed/wounded when strafed by a Mustang - friendly-fire incident - early June 1944, in Normandy, near Flers.
Thirteen soldiers were killed as a result of the strafing. Thank you, meonthebay, Ontario, Canada |

Hi
May I suggest you name those - or some of those - killed and then the date of the incident could be established via CWGC? That might be useful. Cheers Brian |

Hi, I first tried to connect with Rifleman on this incident. It is my understanding that there were 15 Canadian POWs that died RWRs, Cameron Highlanders and NS Highlanders. I have the names of some and are as follows. Thomas Marshall, Mark Sampson, David Sibaston, Douglas Evans, Clarence Peck, James Keir and John Ray Stewart. the town of Sainte Georges De Grossilliers, Normandy, will erect and hols a ceremony to honor the memory of these men on July 1, 2012. An effort is being made to locate family or next of kin of these men to invite them to this event. Thomas Marshall and Clarence Peck are the last of the families to be contacted. I would welcome any thoughts on this.

Hi, we have made contact with all fifteeen families and are expecting about 35 people to attend the ceremony next weekend. Not all families will be represented but we will provide the same graveside service for all. Hopefully we will have a video of the event if anyone is interested.
