Luftwaffe wreckage?

Can anyone identify the attached? I have my own idea but confirmation would be encouraging.

Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
is that a genuine Luftwaffe dog? Seems in great condition after 70 odd years.
Sorry, couldn't help myself. |
Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
Nice touch, dp - yet another smile raised this week. BN

Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
Looks to me like a He 111 oil cooler, although some better idea of the curvature of the top might be helpful! (David Ransome would know for sure) Certainly aircraft wreckage. Probably German.

Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
Why does "Rodney Ju88" show up when you scroll the cursor over the photos?
Has this already been identified and we're wasting time? |
Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
I hadn't noticed that....!!
However, perhaps Bill will enlighten us? Anyway, without seing the profile of the outside curve its a bit tough to say, but it certainly could be one of the "annular" radiator assemblies from a Ju 88. |
Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
Icare9,
"Rodney" relates to the provider of the picture; "Ju88" relates to what he thought the part might be from. Thus the answers to the questions in your second sentence are: No - and no. Thanks for all contributions so far. BN |
Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
Hi,
As Andy suggests a front view would be useful but it does look more like Ju88 in photos provided. He111 unit similar in top appearance. Regards, David |

Very lookalike the oil cooler found at a Ju 88 crash site in river Namsen, Norway.

Re: Luftwaffe wreckage?
Bill
Am I the only one confused now?!! So, it isn't He 111. And its not Ju 88 either? As David Ransome says, the profile probably not right for He 111, but if not an 88 either, then what??! Andy |
