Luftwaffe a/c ID Wr.621215 1944 or 45

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can give me ID of a crashed or broken up after war Luftwaffe aircraft, poss a Ju-88? Believed to have been in Holland on the tail was the Wr. 621215.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Dave

Many thanks for that G.R.

Would anyone happen to know now if it was shot down? written off in an accident? or just scrapped after the war?

Islander,

If you have a picture, please post it here so we can study it and provide you eventually with an answer.

Yes indeed, WNr.621215 is one that hasn't made it onto the LEMB Ju88G-6 Database, so more info would be very much appreciated...

Hi John/Peter,

I do have a photo it is of my friends Grandfather and another soldier in Holland stood next to the tail section, but I`m afraid apart from the swastika and the tail number it gives nothing else away, nothing in the background certainly. Will have to put the photo in photobucket and post.

Regards
Dave

Yes, this is Ju 88 G-6 with FuG 220 SN-2 (?) tail-warning radar-antenna. I do not have locaction of surrender. It was finished likely in beginning of November 1944, so either brand new if captured in 1944. But then all of Holland was not re-captured untill 1945?

Hi Ed

Operation Market Garden was in September then a part of holland was free. In March Venlo and in May the rest of Holland.

Given that its probebly finished in November than Venlo is a possibility.
