Luftwaffe claims for 31 August 1942 (Beaufighter 236 Sqn MIA)
 

Who can help me, please ?
I'm searching a possibly claim for Luftwaffe, 31 August 1942 : Beaufighter (236 Sqn) Missing in action off Texel island (Dutch).
Can anyone help me to find if this aircraft was really shot down by a german fighter ? I have no informations about germans units in Nederlands.

No Lutfwaffe claim in this area this day.

I advice you to post your query on the RAF Command forums (http://www.rafcommands.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi). The moderator is Ross McNeil, who write the Coastal Command Losses series.

I can advice you to send an email (PM) to Hans Nauta. He is an expert on airwar over that area. But you have to be patient because he is now prepairing for a journey to Africa. Leaving within 3 days and will be back at August 15th.

Hi Jean-Pierre,

I could not find any confirmed flak or aircraft claim which matched the loss so for the moment, RAF Coastal Command Losses Volume 2 records 2Lt Chauvin as failing to return.
