Change of Forum setup

Friends,

I am thinking about letting go the old forum setup, which separates Axis and Alies, in exchange for a front based approach. That way we link the two sides of the battle and IMHO get a batter picture.

- North-Western European Front

- Med/North-African/Middle Eastern Front

- Eastern Front

There could be additional fronts added:

- Pacific Front
- South-West Pacific
- CBI Front

Please take the opportunity to vote on the issue, your opinion counts.

I do not think it is a good idea. Where would you put Polish Campaign for example? Anyway, there is really a moderate number of posts which IMHO not justifying another forums. Far East forum seems no sense at the moment judging by number of posts on the subject - it is mainly Germans vs others forum. Of course if situation develops, you can always change it.

Polish campaign would be Eastern Front by virtue of geography.

Not too many changes at the time

You know, we human have problems with too many changes at one time. I think that it might be an option for the future but right now we have to get used to this new forum.

Just my 2 cents.

Hello Ruy
I don't have strong feelings on this issue but I still feel that the old set up is better.

This is your board, I am only trying to make it into something that the community enjoys. Apart from the basic need to move away from Server.com, it means that I will follow the lead of the community on practically all issues.

Although I'd love to expand the topics to include the air war in Asia, its not something that needs to take place today.

Thanks for your input to date.

Hi,

I must to confess that the result of this poll surprised me. Of course that I fully respect the community opinion but IMHO, this new board is FAAAARRRR better than the older one.

My opinion might be influenced by the fact that I´m already knew this kind of forum, but I think others will discover how easy is to use it. The main advantage against the older is the Search facilities and the fact that older post will remain around for much more time - avoiding that kind of questions that always appears over and over again...

In fact the resistance is even natural, as someone already said, we - human beings - usually have some problems with big changes.

I really enjoy this new shape and I´m confident that the others will discover its advantages very fast.

Just my opinion.

Douglas.

Oopsss

Ooops,

Forgot to say two more things:

1) I´m sure that everybody will be happy to see that we are free from those "pop-ups" that appeared on the older forum! That was REALLY annoying. :x

2) Concerning the creation of new forums, I could see in the forum that I help to run (based on the exactly the same tool - php), that is better to wait for the people get familiar with the new system BEFORE create new forums. It is, for sure, very interesting to have this possibility, but not now. Just my opinion.

Douglas.
